Let me ask you first: what story is the team telling about this week? Because a slipped date is a fact, but deflation is a meaning, and people don't recover from facts, they recover from meanings. Often what deflates a team isn't the delay, it's the silent question underneath: does our effort matter, does anyone see us?
Don't rush to the pep talk. Gather them and acknowledge the loss out loud, because unacknowledged disappointment goes underground and becomes cynicism. Then reframe: this week is not a verdict on your worth. Create a small ritual to close it, and begin again, together.
