A week is almost certainly the planning fallacy collecting its usual tax, and I would tell the team exactly that. Ask for the base rate: how many launches anywhere ship on the original date? Very few. The deflation comes from a reference point set too optimistically, not from failure. Reset the reference point, run a premortem on the new date, and the mood follows.
